This high-quality
product is the universal strengthener and hardener for
high-strength steels, tool steels, and other ferrous-based
products. It is sourced from the Evraz Group's ores,
slags, and other secondary sources found throughout
the world. This vanadium is then processed in the facilities
of the Evraz Group and its partners on four continents
— including the facilities of its vanadium subsidiary,
Strategic Minerals Corporation. These facilities produce
the vanadium oxide that is converted into the ferrovanadium
used by steel producers worldwide, as shown in this
Ferrovanadium Global Data Sheet (pdf).
Evraz's expanded sales organization now offers ferrovanadium
globally. Customers in the United States, Canada, Mexico,
and elsewhere in North America continue to be served
by the Stratcor sales office in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Evraz's East Metals office in Lugano, Switzerland serves
steel producers outside North America..
This new global sourcing, production, and sales organization
has been designed to improve coordination of supplies
and better meet customer needs. We invite you to contact
the office that services your requirements.

The highest-purity
vanadium pentoxide in the world is produced under an ISO
9001:2000-certified Quality Management System at Strategic
Minerals' Hot Springs, Arkansas plant. Two grades are used
in a variety of applications, including chemical and environmental
catalysts, Behnfield and Stretford gas processing, coloring
compounds, batteries, dye fixants, and vitamins. This high-purity
product is also the raw material used to produce other Stratcor
high-purity vanadium alloys and chemicals.

Stratcor®
vanadium-aluminum and various other master alloys provide
useful properties in titanium alloys and turbine coatings
- products that play a crucial role in jet aircraft and
other aerospace vehicles. The landing gears, airframes,
and turbine blades of jet engines rely on strong, light-weight
titanium alloys strengthened with these high-purity master
alloys.
Because
of the ever-increasing quality requirements of these applications,
Strategic Minerals Corporation joined International Specialty
Alloys in forming a partnership that specializes in meeting
the critical-quality needs of the titanium industry.
New
State-of-the-Art Plant Offers One-Stop Shopping
The
partnership produces vanadium and other master alloys
in the newest and most modern master-alloy plant in the
world. Here, diverse facilities produce every master alloy
used in titanium, including master alloys needed for products
under development. Titanium producers can therefore get
their master alloys from one source.
Throughout
design and construction, the driving force behind the
new master-alloy plant was quality. Vanadium master alloys
are produced from Stratcor vanadium oxide - the highest-purity
vanadium raw material in the world. Vanadium is then produced
in a separate plant from other products, eliminating any
possible cross-contamination. All products are then thoroughly
inspected before shipment, according to customer requirements.
That assures customers that every product meets their
strict chemistry and quality standards.
